Today we are heading to Midland, Tx (Hector’s hometown) for his birthday weekend! I am super excited but every time I go out of town, I get a little worried that my heathy ways will be interrupted. It’s tempting to stop at gas stations along the way for some unhealthy snacks to pass the time. It’s also a little tricky when you are eating at someone else’s house and going out to eat for special occasions.
Although I’m sure I’ll be eating a little birthday cake, I’m determined to stick to my healthy ways! So to help myself stay on track, I packed snacks so we won’t have to buy any unhealthy ones on the way there or on the way back.
These are some of my favorites so I thought I would share:
-Whole wheat/flax seed crackers with Laughing Cow cheese (DUH!)
-Strawberries sprinkled with Truvia
-Whole wheat blueberry/cranberry muffins
-Pop Chips (THESE ARE AMAZING) I packed the baked potato flavor!
-Cherry tomatoes
-Carmel flavored Quaker rice cakes
-Bananas
-Yogurt covered pretzels (100 calorie packs)
-Apples
and LOTS of water (:
